This panel will feature expert advice to both Deaf and hearing interpreters about barriers in the interpreting field and how to work well as a team. Panelists will share their life experiences navigating the journey to becoming an interpreter and their insight on the benefits of having an interpreter who is a native user of their language. They will discuss how they frame the work of a C/DI with their colleagues and with professionals outside of the interpreting field. Audience members will develop a deeper understanding of the role of C/DIs and how to empower the DHH community to increase their use.
