Testing Scholarships

The South Carolina Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf Board of Directors provides knowledge or performance testing scholarships for either the National Interpreter Certification (NIC) through the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf or the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessement (EIPA) through Boystown National Research Hospital. 

Criteria: Failure to follow the requirements below will render the application void.

Applicant must live and/or work in South Carolina

Applicant must be a member in good standing of SC RID for 12 months prior to applying

Applicant must be a current member of SC RID

Applicant is eligible to receive no more than one award for each test taken

If no award is received, applicant may apply again during the next award cycle

Applicant must be a valid candidate for the test they are seeking to take

Award amount and number of awards will be determined by the SC RID Board of Directors and are final

Award recipients must agree to sign a promissory that the applicant will use the funds from the award to register for a test within 30 days of the award and will furnish the SC RID BOD with a copy of their receipt. 

Cycle:

Awards will be made quarterly (pending funding availability) 

Submissions: 

Sumbissions should be received by the first day of January, April, July, and October for the following quarter
