Join the 2020-2022 SC RID Board of Directors for the last workshop of their term, a virtual self-care workshop presented by Jen Kagan, RID CI CT, on Thursday, June 23, 2022.

This workshop will be from 9:00-10:30am EST on Zoom.

"I became interested when my work as a sign language interpreter caused repetitive injury.  My path led me to many different styles, and cities but gratefully guided me towards the method I study and teach now that has supported me through a more than 25 year career as an interpreter

I moved to Mexico in 2010 to start a new life. I ran a studio here while working VRI.  After COVID, I closed my studio and now focus exclusively on sign language interpreters.   

I trained at the New York Institute of Iyengar yoga and travel to India regularly (pre-COVID) to study with my teachers. I am in the process of completing a certificate in Integral Counseling with Dr. Frawley and Level 1 Ayurveda Therapist with Dr. Sharma from Ayushkama Ayurveda."

Workshop description:

Students will learn the benefits of a daily routine on their bodies and minds and how their posture could be contributing to their pain. A self-evaluation of their posture will give the knowledge to make positive changes. Then, a complete detailed instruction of the poses contained in the 15 minute sequence and the benefits of each pose as well as adaptation for various individual conditions or injuries with plenty of opportunity to ask questions and get feedback. Participants will leave with a do-able routine they can implement immediately into their lives.
