NIC Exams & CASLI System Updates
Description:
Star G. Grieser, Director of Testing for the Center for the Assessment of Sign Language Interpretation (CASLI), will provide an update on the new CASLI Generalist Knowledge Exams, CASLI Generalist Performance Exams and CASLI Exam System, the online testing systems for CASLI exams. She will also address common questions and concerns and answer any questions the audience may have regarding CASLI exams and exam systems.
Star Grieser, CDI
Star G. Grieser is the director of testing for CASLI. She relocated from Norfolk, VA in the fall of 2017, where previously she worked as a program chair for the ASL and Interpreter Education Program at Tidewater Community College for 11 years. Star was very active in the Virginia Deaf community as well as within her profession presenting workshops and facilitating statewide conferences and events. She also holds both CDI and ASLTA-M certification. She graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology (SVP ’94) in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Professional and Technical Communication from the Rochester Institute of Technology and from McDaniel College, Westminster, MD with a MS in Deaf Education in 2009. Star loves working with the CASLI and RID team and loves tackling the many challenges of test administration and development. Star currently lives in Washington, D.C. and enjoys exploring DC by bicycle, traveling when she can, spending time in nature, dabbling in arts, and lounging outdoors with a good book.

Language Policy:
This workshop will be conducted using only American Sign Language. Attendees must adhere to the language policy at all times during the workshop.
