*The language policy of all SC RID events is: ASL*
**A Zoom link will be sent out the week of the workshop**
"Interpreters in a medical setting are confronted with ethical decisions around whether they have the skills and knowledge necessary to interpret various types of communication. One of these is the pre-surgery Advance Directives Form.
Participants will discuss ethical decision-making and situation-specific options. We will review standard level of care options, vocabulary involved and choices for how to interpret terms/concepts. Attendees will have the opportunity for hands on practice.
We will also review the Colorado End of Life Options Act. This workshop will be presented entirely in ASL, with no English interpretation. A minimum of five years of interpreting in a professional setting is strongly recommended."
This workshop is worth .4 CEUs and will end some time between 1:00-1:30PM depending on how many concluding questions there are/how long it takes things to wrap up.
Requests for accommodations must be emailed to sc.rid.sec@gmail.com by Friday, May 7th.
